So quote is not related with thread...kay
Of course it not your job, it's just me being a bit off topic. I just related that quote to recent gw events , the fall of XTH, lack of balance updates, codex arena that no one plays... I'm not QQing just got a felling like the game and community is falling apart. Heh i should take a long break from this game now, till i feel desire to play it again... |

at one point i was like that. got all my pvp titles i'd been working on for 4 years, got every class to 100% perfection and tricked out for pvp, had every weapon skin/armor set i ever wanted including ridiculously rare ones, and still had an assload of cash and ectos left over.
so i bought every single expensive skin there was to get, just to say i had them. now i just go window shopping in kamadan and buy crap i don't need in high end. occasionally i'll come across a nice yet pointless rare pve item, then i'll go kill some fire imps with it or something. basically since all my objectives in the game i've accomplished, i just do whatever i feel like doing at that given moment, mostly completely pointless things. like troll farming with a wammo. or doing gates of kryta solo on a ranger. or running people from ascalon to LA for free just for the nostalgic value. it's kind of nice knowing you have everything and can play in the most leisurely way possible with no goal in mind but to have fun. |

when i get bored with GW i play other games for a few months. I have take 4-5 4 month or so breaks. It's always fun to come back after half a year and see what has changed. With the lack of updates now though, it may be more difficult to find obvious changes anymore.

But alot do enjoy pvp. And that's why they keep playing. I actually don't know much people like you gift3d. After completing the story line I tried to go for a few titles. I VQ Elona and I was bored after and stopped with pve (call+1234 is not fun!). But you can just do everything with all professions and farm/powertrade just go get other skins. I'm not gonna judge your skills. I mean, I guess you like that playstyle. But it amazes me that people can play boring pve for so long. I serious can't understand why people still do pve. It's not skill anymore, It's all about time/grind now. _ @TS I advice you to try other games. WoW and Aion can be fun for a while or for a very long time. Or maybe try other genres. Shooters and RTS games are also much fun. If you really can't leave GW.. do some more pvp! It's the most fun part of the game anyways. |

Guild Wars is good because it allows you to take breaks and remain on par with everyone else(although you may have to spend a few minutes putting a build together or a few seconds on the PvX wiki) play other games until you feel like playing Guild Wars again. If a game ever becomes boring that is the first sign that you should be doing something else, until the game has new content to excite you or it is no longer routine and you can have fun with it again.

havn't been playing for as long as you (only 2 years and still hovering round 100k ^^)
anywho i like orange milk's idea. even though i've hardly done everything there is in GW i've had times when i stopped playing. then after a few weeks i come back to tyria, it feel refreshing. (although its just a game right? ) as in the money do whatever you want with it, you coulld always try and fill up your xunlai vault + every char's inventory with stacks of ectos then max gold in your bank account and all chars. <--- would that be Uber 1337? |

Hmm interesting . . . If you have money to blow, id throw a huge "event" in honor of yourself for achieving such a point in GW; giveways, contest, konga-lines for $$, drok run races (ive hosted some of these back when droks were ran by wars FUN!), . . in short a mini-event.

In complete honesty, I don't really like any of the high end skins enough to keep em, so I just buy em, plug around a bit with em, sell and move on. The only ones I keep are torms, which in my mind aren't really high end, but they're decent-looking and cheap enough to customise. Most of my toons have one. Apart from those, generally I like the simple skins>all. i.e. Bo Staves, Shadow weapons, Ghostly staves, etc. Fiscal gains aside, I find that no matter how much you've done in GW, there's always something you haven't done, and regardless of whether you think you'll like it, or not, generally anything new is fairly certain to provide a new challenge, the chance to perfect it, and the self-satisfaction you feel when you do perfect it. Nothing makes me happier in GW, Neverwinter Nights, hell any game where there are things u can repeat, than getting to the point where you do it so well that it's not a matter any more of trying to do it right, it's more a matter of trying to do it even smoother and more cleanly than the last time. I suppose that's why the top times in my Saturn version of Sega Rally had less than half a second difference between first place and 30th. I am in the same boat. I got a horse shoe up the behind and I get VS Drops.. joined a Guild that owned a town and then bought 1,000,000g worth of keys and then the alliance disbanded, got 3 cel tigers from 250 fortunes. i got my Obby armor and my torm shield, filled my hall of monuments, dont ethe games.. got my titles.. and I am super rich. I made 90ectos on one trade 2 weeks ago and I was like.. what's the point anymore.. So.. Like you, not knowing what to do.. I thought.. What is the hardest title to get in the WHOLE GAME..single title that is.. you know stand alone.. LUCKY and UNLUCKY. So I decide to get my lucky title. I started at 850,000 lucky and over the weekend I am up to 1,130,000 now. So, this is what I am doing. It is boring as all get up but can you imagine me switching titles in presearing between, Legendary Defender of Ascalon, Cursed By Fate, Blessed By Fate and Legendary Treasure hunter? |
